The fact of the matter is, I've lived at my university on-campus for
the past four years with an old, outdated, funky looking desk that I am looking
forward to no longer having in my life come three weeks from now. As much as I am
working on my computer on design work, I can't wait to invent a cute
little space to do my work in. Even if it's the tiniest corner of a
studio apartment, I don't care. I will be stoked. Due to
my excitement about this tiny little part of a home, I decided to share some beautiful work spaces that I can't wait to take bits and
pieces of and merge together into a space that I can call my own. Here are a couple of the ideas I love from these spaces that I
hope to reinvent sooner rather than later:
Graphic Posters and Wire Bins: When one of my best friends came to visit me from out of town, of course we ended up wandering around in beautiful Pasadena. She was set on finding cute little wire bins. Then I saw this picture on Pinterest. To put it strangely, I now totally believe in these cute wire bins that are so versatile and can be used a million different ways in so many different rooms. I am definitely keeping my eyes peeled so I can nab some cheap, cute ones. I also really love the big graphic poster in the first picture. It makes the space feel more original and creative. Oh, and I love the instagram(esq) square prints on the wall. This is just the prettiest little space, oh boy.
Day of the Week Organizer and Colorful Accents: I love the creative little strip of days of the week that you can clothespin notes and tasks to. Although my calendar always undoubtedly ends up on my computer and an organizer like that probably wouldn't be utilized very much (just being honest), however it's still the cutest idea. I totally love the bright pops of color in this workspace, too. It feels sunny and full of life and imagination.
Old Wood Desk and Inspiration Boards: Hands-down obsessed with old wood desks, and even though this one was maybe just bought, a girl can dream of making her own can't she? I would love to become some creative genius/furniture maker that could whip up something like this. Then, the inspiration board above it with a bunch of ideas and fabric and photos... uh, yes please! Not too long ago I got on a band-wagon of pinning a bunch of inspiration boards. They are just so easy to make and not to mention they are SO cute and convenient.
Shutter Window Accents and Fill Up Cork Boards: The green shutters. What the what. I just think that those are so perfect on that table, and at second-hand home goods type stores you can find shutters like that for a couple bucks. Throw those together with a cork board that you fill to the brim with cards and inspirational things and you can't beat the price and the originality.
Hanging Letters and Organizational Boxes: I LOVE the text that's spelled out and hanging in this last workspace. Not to mention, you could cut letters out of heavy weight paper and super glue them to a thick string and it would take you all of 10 minutes to make this. I also just really gravitated toward the semi mismatched, muted colored boxes that are stacked up on the desk. I love some good organization and if you can make it cute, you kill two birds with one stone, right?
For other work spaces I adore and home ideas I love check out this board on Pinterest.
Love this, it gives me an idea for what I should do for my blog! :)
