creativity in review / 2

Here are six things I've been absolutely adoring lately that I thought you'd might love too:

Creative Formations of Text: I recently put together a portfolio book on Artifact Uprising and played around with trying to invent new ways of slabbing huge bodies of text on an area. Maybe it's just the fact that the magazines in markets have gotten pretty boring with their creativity in text layouts, but I'm totally drawn to out-there, inventive bodies of text lately.

Hand-drawn Text: I did a Save the Date not too long ago where I played around with drawing my own lettering rather than create everything on the computer. I absolutely loved the results and I felt like the look stood out among any Save the Dates you can purchase online. So now, in any chance I get I am trying new ways to draw out text by hand and then scan them into my computer and further edit from there.

Graphic Wreaths: I feel like these cute little graphics are becoming a trend, and I am a willing participant in the trend for sure. I used something similar for a Graduation Announcement I made a year ago and everyone loved them. They are an easy way to bring a vintage-vibe to a project when you don't have time to create something that's time consuming.

Pretty Gift-Wrapping: Anyone that knows me knows I really love gift giving... and I especially love making sure that my gifts look as cute on the outside as the gift is on the inside. I loved this adorable wrapping paper and the little tag, and the free downloadable gift tags on the right side I absolutely love too. Tags are my go-to idea to make something look complete and pulled together.

Flower Crowns: Somehow I keep craving to make new flower crowns and I keep pinning them on Pinterest. I got myself caught up in adoring making flower crowns. They are so easy and so creative and as I make more and more of them, they become faster to make and I'm able to try out new creative ways to re-invent them.

Innovative Table of Contents Pages: I loved the way that a twist on the primary colors was used in this table of contents, and I am always trying to explore and dig deeper into how to make 'average' things not so average, so this was a good example to draw inspiration from. Even when recently, I have been re-designing a few Resumes, I realized how it takes such little effort to take something from average to interesting and unique.
