old grainy photographs

Welp, this post is entirely due to my overwhelming, nerdy excitement about something I just purchased. I won't even lie.

Sometimes late at night I make spontaneous decisions. Most of which involve my pocketbook, shhh. But hear me out. VSCO Film was on its last day of offering Film 05 for a 25% discount and I knew sacrifices must be made. They just had to. I had been waiting quite some time to take a leap and make this purchase (I really do want to buy the Film 01 and 02, but the 05 was the one on sale, so I'll take it. Sales always win, duh.)

So what will I be doing the rest of my Spring Break? Editing old photographs and reminiscing? You betcha.

So here's a whole slew of old photographs from my summer in Tanzania. It rocked my world and I miss these sweet faces daily. Side note: Isn't Neema in the top photograph absolutely beautiful? Like, holy cow. Anywho, I loved being able to add an old film vibe to these photographs. Such life and vibrance was added and it was so incredibly quick and easy. I'm all giddy with excitement about it, definitely hitting up all my best friends to do photoshoots with them so I can play around with the presents (the filters). Nerdy, I know. I'm excited to learn which presents I love and to dabble in photography a little bit more for fun.

If you aren't familiar with VSCO Film, it's similar to the app you can get for your iPhone, except it acts as filters on photographs you bring into Photoshop Lightroom. It seems to be all the rage for photographers now-aways. It's pricey but it saves a heck of a lot of editing time and I'm obsessed with the results. All I could think of was how epic my travels to Europe in two months are going to look with this little fancy investment. Stoked.

As of right now, it's worth every penny. I'll keep y'all updated with some of my life via photographs every once in a while for fun.

In the meantime, I've got a huge smile smack-dab across my face.
